PRIVATE WEALTH CFOs CARE℠ – THE FOUR TOOLS

For years large institutions, family offices, and wealthy investors have achieved superior investment returns compared to the average investor. There was a time when advanced investment tools were only available to Fortune 500, large institutions, and very ultra wealthy.

Rather than chasing hot investments ideas, we take a long-term approach to managing our clients' total portfolio. At a Private Wealth CFOs, we have discovered four tools that help our clients make investing more businesslike. These tools serve a financial blueprint with checks and balances.

Many successful business owners have done well for themselves and their clients. But when they turn to investing their personal wealth with similar acumen, they assume that they cannot gain access to the intelligence and tools available to large institutions, family offices, Fortune 500 firms and the ultra-wealthy.

That’s where Private Wealth CFOs comes in.

Rather than chasing hot investments ideas, we show investors how to make their investing more businesslike. We take a long-term approach to managing total portfolios, and provide access to fund solutions that adopt a similar, institutional-level outlook. Four tools contribute to form our high-level financial blueprint:

1) The Financial Plan

The Financial Plan is the starting point to setting your goals and dreams for the future. The financial planning process entails agreeing how you will work with your advisor, assessing your strengths and weaknesses, analyzing your situation, developing custom recommendations, implementing your plan, and monitoring your progress to stay on track.

2) The Investment Policy Statement (IPS)

The Investment Policy Statement (IPS) is the business plan for managing your investment portfolio, which considers your tolerance for risk, time horizon, investment philosophy, and experience. This document helps guide how your portfolio is managed.

3) The Asset Allocation Plan

The asset allocation plan attempts to balance risk vs. expected reward. The plan diversifies your portfolio using stocks, bonds, alternatives investments, and cash. For each asset category, investment managers or funds are used to manage a portion of the overall investment portfolio.

4) The Investment Plan Review

During Investment Plan Review meetings, your Private Wealth Advisor monitors how you are doing in relation to your goals, tracking your progression, compared against your personal benchmarks. We will discuss current market conditions, changes in your family life, and anything else that is relevant to your financial well-being. Also, your Private Wealth Advisor can help determine if any adjustments are needed to your investment portfolio.
