About Us
PRIVATE WEALTH CFOs is a registered investment advisory firm located in Bethesda, MD, and we service clients in the Washington DC Metro area.
Our mission is help highly compensated professionals grow and protect their nest egg.
Jean Jacques Borno, CIMA®, CHFC®, is the Managing Principal of PRIVATE WEALTH CFOs LLC, and he has over fifteen years of experience in the wealth management business, and during that time he has advised his clients through both bull and bear markets.
In 1994 Jean began his career in financial services at American Express Financial Advisors in South Florida. While at American Express, Jean was quickly promoted from financial advisor to district manager. As district manager he ran the day-to-day operations of the Ft. Lauderdale office, and managed over 20 financial advisors.
In 2002, Jean joined the Washington, DC branch of Merrill Lynch. He graduated in the top 20 percent of his nationwide class (which consisted of more than 2500 advisors) and became a member of the firm’s prestigious Executive’s Club. After three and a half years, Jean was recruited to join the Global Wealth Management Group of Morgan Stanley’s Washington, DC office. While there he continued honing his wealth management skills and began a niche practice focused on meeting the needs of physicians, law firm partners, executives, and business owners.
Enjoying the benefits of a niche practice (specialization, client referrals, and anticipation of client needs) Jean left Morgan Stanley in 2008 to begin his own wealth management company. PRIVATE WEALTH CFOs LLC℠ is a boutique Registered Investment Advisory firm located in Bethesda, Maryland.
A Registered Investment Advisory Firm is unlike a traditional brokerage whose practice focuses mainly on selling investment products and generating transactions that may or may not lead to sustained client wealth building. Conversely, a Registered Investment Advisory firm has a fiduciary duty to put its clients’ needs first and disclose any conflicts of interest.
PRIVATE WEALTH CFOs is committed to integrating prevailing industry best practices into its delivery of financial advisory services. To that end, Jean holds the ChFC® (Charted Financial Consultant), and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designations. The CIMA® training program is conducted jointly with the Investment Management Consultant Association and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Additionally, Jean has served as the Miami Herald’s Financial Expert of the Week and contributed to the following articles: Chanen, Jill Schachner “Heading into the Home Stretch” ABA Journal Web. October 1, 2007; and Borno, Jean Jacques “Common $ense $aving” Web. February 2007.
Jean Borno resides in Potomac, Maryland with his wife Karen and their two children.
